Who we are

We are the Epiphany Anglican Church. The word epiphany means “manifestation” or “revelation”. There are three events in the New Testament that are central to the definition of Epiphany and its meaning is drawn from these occurrences: the visit of the three Magi, Christ’s baptism in the Jordan River, and his first miracle at the wedding in Cana. Through the Magi, Christ revealed himself to the gentiles. In Eastern Christianity, Epiphany puts emphasis on the Baptism of Jesus by John, with Christ revealing himself to the world as God’s own Son. Likewise, on Epiphany some denominations
commemorate Jesus’ miracle of turning water, signifying the manifestation of
Christ’s divinity as well.

Epiphany Community Church is a diverse, Christ-centered, multicultural Anglican community. As such, we strive to be a community in which a person finds support and nurture for spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth; we strive to be a non-judgmental and caring environment where people can experience the presence of God and follow the way of Jesus through the fulfillment of the commandment to love the Lord our God and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Our

COMMUNITY

In the beginning God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” God designed real life to be a life lived in community with other believers. We are a community of worshippers, not an audience of spectators. We value a community in which all members are empowered to contribute as learners and leaders, practicing mutual respect and building mutual trust. In addition, ware a Church because we believe God has called us together to be a people who belong to him and live for him.

“It is not good for man to be alone.”

Our

MISSION IS TWO-FOLD

TO PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL

to the unreached not in overbearing ways but sensitively lovingly, humbly, boldly, and passionately through God’s wisdom and strength.

TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES

for our members to serve Christ according to the gifts and talents entrusted to each and every individual member.

In light of this mission, we, the members of Epiphany Community Church seek to be committed, guided and inspired by a unifying set of values:

Caring

We value caring – for ourselves, for each other, and for this place – and exhibit that caring through service to others.

Openness

We value open and honest communications that create an atmosphere of trust and an openness to change for the benefit of our Church community.

Diversity

We value diversity, appreciating our differences and ways of living and recognizing that our diversity is a source of strength. We value diversity through loving acceptance of one another.

Joy

We value laughter and play that enriches our worshipping experience

We are a

CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

We are a Christian community seeking to love our brothers and sisters as ourselves, to worship God as an enthusiastic community with all people of all ages and ethnicities fully participating in their own way, to grow as persons, increasing in knowledge and faith, to conduct our common life in the caring, trusting atmosphere of an extended family, to be God’s faithful servants, witnessing both individually and corporately to God’s transforming power, to proceed with openness, continually re-forming our goals and methods, to reach out to others to join in the mission of this church, and to use all of our resources for God’s work, seeking justice and peace in the world.

Recognizing that our Christian faith is the foundation of our values in human relationships, we seek to work together in the light of the gospel to define principles of human relationships and behavior that are based on relating to each other as whole persons, with love, responsibility, accountability, trust, and mutual nurturance.
